Description
Mao City – Keep On Movin’
A random drawing I made of my friends and I back in the good old days of Mao Islands; these guys are the original founders (their characters) of the entire project. From left to right: Boasi (top left, unsuspecting college student, secretly the leader of the Astaldo Brotherhood Crime Syndicate), Edge (bottom left, aka Kuon – the eyes and ears of the streets, nothing happens without her knowing), Jev (brother of Jack and Joe, the out of place, stuck in the 60’s peace loving hippy), Joe (brother of Jev and Jack, upstanding feared and respected citizen – no one tries anything in the Islands/City without his permission), and lastly Jack (elder brother of the Island family, adventure junkie and financially backing EVERYONE).
This was an awesome story that my friends and I made back in high school; it was essentially a comedy regarding organized crime in the Hawaiian Islands. To anyone that truly understands this picture, they should speak up; I’ll say this: I was Jack, the guy that did the patchwork, art, a good number of the sound and music, and DS programming.
On a side note; I don’t know exactly how long this pic took to do, since it was over 2 weeks with anywhere between 30 min to 2 hours a day (like every other day or so). The background though was outstandingly simple, and took probably 30 minutes if that (since I didn’t know what I was doing for the background of this picture and I figured I took long enough for the foreground), although I do like how the ocean turned out. Yeah, this pic was inspired (or at least reminded me of my friends) from the song Keep On Movin’ by Five (don’t know why I was listening to that song).
